A significant amount of research has already been done on the resin of various Boswellia species from habitat, and more is on-going by private industries and academic communities worldwide. We know that the resin contains beneficial compounds that, individually, have medicinal uses for various illnesses. We are also aware of the historical data and claims for Frankincense, along with the folklore that has been passed on from generation to generation. However, to my knowledge, there are no true long-term clinical studies done to establish that Boswellia resin in its raw form, or as an essential oil cures cancer or any chronic disease. We make a clear distinction between “beneficial” and “healing”.
Our focus at TEC is to explore planned hybridization, selective breeding, and the use of genetic engineering and CRISPR to create new species that will potentially have the potency, in its natural form, to have profound impacts on human diseases. Organic material often works for an ailment of a specific patient with the right genetic makeup. Thus, we hope to use our designed Frankincense to meet a predetermined criteria for a specific group of patients in the future.
